Special Educational Needs Monitoring and Assessment Service (SENMAS)
SEN Monitoring and Assessment team deal with requests for statutory assessments. A statutory assessment is a detailed investigation to find out what a specific child's educational needs are and what provision is needed to meet those needs. If a Statutory Assessment is agreed, the team gathers further information about the child from schools, parents and other professionals within agreed statutory timescales. When the Statutory Assessment is complete they will decide whether to write a Statement of Special Educational Needs for your child.
Conduct of statutory assessment of pupils with Special Educational Needs, up to the age of 19.
Monday - Friday 8.45am - 5pm
Children, young people and their families usually need to be referred to these services by a professional, such as a teacher or Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO).
